188 years of traditions and culture
This July 25 Guanacaste celebrates 188 years of being part of Costa Rica. What makes this day so special? We have fiestas, dances, parades, bull rides, and of course plenty of tasty food. But what all of this truly means is that from Liberia to Santa Cruz and Nicoya we are so proud to be a part of this great country.
In a recent poll conducted by the New Economics Foundation, Costa Rica was found to be the happiest country in the world for the second year in a row. We are not surprised. Here it’s the simple things that create joy, and this uncomplicated attitude – combined with the paradise that surrounds us – makes for a truly magical environment.
So on July 25 we will pick up our marimbas, don our colorful skirts, serve our delicious food as bright and aromatic as our flora, and tell the world how proud we are of our traditions, our culture, and our country.
Join the celebration. We’re sure you’ll fall in love with Costa Rica just as we have.
