A warm and hearty THANK YOU to our wonderful staff. Through their hard work and dedication to sustainability Hotel Sugar Beach received an additional Green Leaf, which makes us a Four Leaf Hotel.
Since our staff was so instrumental in the achievement of this high honor, we asked them to describe what sustainability means to them.
Working toward sustainability means creating a shared conscience about the environment. I enjoy what I do, working for the improvement of a whole community. I take pride when the hotel receives recognition based on our efforts and commitment to nature, culture, and social development.
Obtaining the fourth leaf in the Certificate for Sustainable Tourism is a personal and professional achievement that also reflects the support from conscientious employers and the efforts of an entire team.
I am proud to know that I contributed to the hotel’s sustainability efforts, not only for the positive impact on the environment, but also for the positive impact on our hotel and community. The fourth leaf is another reason for more people to visit us, experience sustainability, and become conscientious about our natural resources. Our resources do not last forever – and we cannot be careless about them. Saludos!
For me, sustainability means striking a balance between nature and human beings. We work to preserve our environment, but to also enjoy it, be it for work or recreation.
Having obtained four leaves is a reward for hard work. It also displays our high standard before the eyes of others. It is a motivation to keep fighting for a better future for ourselves and our community.
Being a sustainable hotel means reaching an equilibrium of the business operations with our environment and community. It means watching over our natural resources, vital to our country, as well as working side by side with the community for the betterment of its members. Reaching a fourth leaf means that our efforts and dedication have paid off. This achievement motivates us to keep moving forward. We want to preserve our natural beauties so that more people, in the present and future, are able to enjoy them.
